PINMAR PAINT TRAINING COURSES FOR YACHT CREWS

20 - 23 October 2008 in Palma de Mallorca.

Pinmar will start a twice yearly paint training courses for yacht crews, starting in October 2008 for four days in Palma de Mallorca with the next course to be held in Barcelona in April 2009.
The courses will consist of two and a half days of seminars and one and a half days of practical instruction in our newly constructed workshops on the following subjects:
  1. Maintaining new and older paintwork.
  2. Technical discussions, mixing and using the products.
  3. Health and Safety when using the products as well as storage on board.
  4. Practical demonstrations of patch repairing damaged coatings, with the crews taking part in actual brushing and spraying application sessions.
  5. Paint and material stock taking on board.

Guest speakers will also be invited to join the seminars who can contribute in the different areas of discussion and there will also be an optional extended follow up course where a Pinmar applicator with over 20 years' experience will go on board and carry out free consultation and practical demonstrations.
The courses will end with a dinner and presentation of Training Course Certificates and prizes for the "Best Applicator of the Week".

PINMAR PAINT SHED


Towering over the hard standing at Barcelona's MB92 shipyard, is PINMAR'S vast new purpose-built paint shed. This impressive building, built in partnership with MB92, extends the original to a length of 125 metres, with 25 metres width and 27.5 metres height, making it the largest of its kind in the Mediterranean.
This opens the opportunity for more yachts to be refinished under ideal controlled climatic conditions, thus largely removing the delays and uncertainties caused by the vaguaries of the weather.

The shed boasts the latest technology in filtered forced-air supply to reduce clouding and overspray removing the need for extra covers and extraction and carbon filtration systems removing solvents and residues.

Remy Millot, Managing Director said, “This facility is an important part of Pinmars investment strategy ensuring our continued position as Europe's biggest Yacht finishing company.”
