What’s on offer?

The three-day course moves from theory to practice.

We cover subjects like mixing and using products, maintaining topcoats, health and safety an environmental control.

People who come on the course learn how to do things like patch repair damaged coatings, spray topcoat onto a panel and create a more professional finish on small jobs.

What are the benefits?

For the first time ever, crew have the opportunity to really learn how to maintain the paint finish onboard a superyacht from people who work with paint every day.

Captains and officers have the opportunity to learn how to make planning decisions on touch-up and refit work.

Owners save money because crew can carry out small jobs without a professional painter having to come onboard. Maintaining paintwork regularly could also add up to longer term savings and reduce yard time.

Who are the trainers?

The instructors are from Awlgrip and Yacht CSI, as well as highly experienced applicators from Pinmar.

How long is the course?

Three days.

What does it cost?

The course costs 400€, TAXES included, and includes tuition, materials and lunch/refreshments each day and drinks and dinner on the last day, with a prize for the best applicator of the course!
Each person attending the course will be responsible for their own travel, accommodation and other meals.
Pinmar will provide some reasonable options for accommodation.

Who can come on the course?

The course is designed for professional superyacht crew.

You don’t need any previous experience in handling paint but some basic background knowledge might be handy. The emphasis is on getting it right from now on.

Do I receive a certificate?

When you’ve completed the course you receive a Pinmar Paint Academy certificated.
