Pinmar, part of the Global Yachting Group (GYG), a leading provider of services to the world’s superyacht fleet, headquartered in Mallorca, have helped define the world’s superyacht finishing business to include painting, refit, supply and distribution.
They have also established themselves as a leader of golf events within the superyacht world, with the annual charity Pinmar Golf Tournament taking place in Mallorca, in which over 350 players take part and 800 industry personnel attend the gala dinner.
Having won the Claret Jug with his triumph at the Open Championship in 1999, Lawrie has accomplished an impressive career of tournament victories. In addition to his Open Championship win, he has claimed seven further titles on the European Tour with victories in Spain (twice), Qatar (twice), Wales and Scotland (twice) ‐ his most recent win coming at the 2012 Johnnie Walker Championship.
He claimed a spot in the historic 2012 Ryder Cup team that achieved the Miracle of Medinah, where he produced the biggest winning margin in the singles on the final day (5&3 over Snedeker). Lawrie is also widely recognised for his efforts in giving back to the game whereby he has continued to grow the Paul Lawrie Foundation that provides numerous opportunities for juniors in golf and also other sports.
In 2015 he also launched his own European Tour event – the Paul Lawrie Match Play – an annual match play tournament that forms part of the European Tour’s Race to Dubai schedule. And just two weeks ago he played a key role in the European Ryder Cup team where he took up the position of Vice Captain.
Given Pinmar’s longstanding association with golf as well as the popularity of the sport in the superyacht industry, Pinmar saw a natural fit to align themselves with such a high profile golfer as Lawrie. Remy Millott commented: “We’re delighted to be announcing this partnership with Paul given his achievements and profile as a great ambassador to golf.”
